Total Betty Barbie doll

Jessica with her doggies Aston and Bentley.
Jessica Fitts is a lovely girl and I'm very lucky to have her as a client. We spent the day on Saturday flipping her closet for fall and finding new ways to work with the pieces she already has. It was like playing dress-up with a Barbie doll.

The girl has got a great fashion sense, but, like many of us, had begun to rely on a few go-to outfits, just a little too much. We went in with an open mind at looked at her wardrobe in a different way. Jessica leaned pretty hard on the blouse with denim look so we decided to pretend like her denim didn't exist. We were able to put together quite a few great outfits and give some new life to clothes she already owned.

We got rid of a lot of things she was holding onto and didn't wear. Generally, if you haven't worn it in the past 6 months, it's safe to say that you won't miss it. Free the space for something that will work harder for you or. If your excuse is that the piece has sentimental meaning, re-purpose it with someone like Redgi. The space that those garments takes up in your closet can actually make it harder to make a decision on what to wear. Like closet/brain clutter.

We identified a few holes in Jessica's closet so I took her to my friend Anastasia's boutique and are having some custom pieces made for her. It's key to have a little black dress and staple skirt that you can feel really fabulous in and Anastasia specializes in making these affordable (more on Anastasia in a future post). The right fit is essential with clothing because it ultimately determines how you feel and thus how you express yourself to the world. These items are worth investing in.

Here are a few of my favorite outfits we put together for my Barbie...ah hem, I mean my new friend Jessica.

She hated the front of this dress so we made it the back

She has fun pumps that can work to spice up any outfit
